Last October A Little Light was launched.

It was created to be a space where Canadian Christian women who work online can find community, encouragement, and resources.

Since we launched we have grown a core group of women looking to use their passions and gifts with their online life.  We are very proud of the women who call A Little Light their community. They are the reason this community was founded.

We continue to strive in bringing value to them and anyone else looking for a community like A Little Light. Here is what we have been up to, online and offline . . .

Gatherings

The Friendezvous in Kamloops

In November we hosted a small gathering in Kamloops. We spent the evening cozied on some couches with these three ladies, enjoying some decadent desserts and lingering through some great conversations.

The IF Gathering in Kamloops

In February we went on a road trip with two other local ladies and joined in the IF Gathering hosted at the Kamloops Alliance Church.

The Panel Mixer in Abbotsford

In May we hosted a Panel Discussion and Mixer at Old Hand Coffee. Our panel was hosted by Jenni Marie and featured Louise Chapman, Stef Tong, Kim Gladman and Lynnelle Peters. It was a night of fun introductions, valuable discussion and lots of laughs. (photo by Simply Rose Photography)
In 2016 we ran our first stream of the MINITRIBES program. Some of the ladies were able to gather for a relaxing retreat and chat all things social media, life, books, and everything in between. (photo by JenniMarie Photography. Food by the wonderful Katie-Sue from The Sweet Baker)

In January 2017 we held our first Work Weekend, and then another one this past spring.
It is a time when we can rent an empty home, set up our laptops and focus on getting our work projects done. With a side of great conversations, pots of coffee and food. (Photo by JenniMarie Photography)

On Instagram

Instagram Gatherings

Every couple months we meet on Instagram to have a virtual happy hour. It is a way to meet other women and engage in meaningful conversations in social media.

Cultivate Creativity

We are passionate about women putting their creativity to use, in whatever form God made them a creative. We encourage you share what you are making using hashtag #createifcreated (click the pic to read our blog post Christian Women and the Gift of Creativity)

Practicing Celebration

Celebration is easy when everything is going well. However, when there are hurdles, and heartaches, and you feel like hiding under a blanket all day – then the act of celebration becomes a discipline. We welcome you to join us each Wednesday as we make time and space to celebrate God’s love, hope and goodness in our lives and the lives of those around us.

For Our Community

THE POST – For those ladies who have joined A Little Light we have a biweekly newsletter called The Post. It features social media tips, encouragement, and community updates.

THE GROUP – We have a closed Facebook group for the women to get to know one another, ask questions & share what is on their hearts.

THE MINITRIBES – This summer we started minitribes. It is a program that is a mash up of accountability groups/masterminds/guided study. The theme is ‘In the Garden’ and regular content is provided to encourage the women to work together and reflect on their own work as they  build their platforms to be purposeful, fulfilling, unique and fruitful.
